Who am I and why am I even telling you this?

trish and her home wares

Who am I exactly? I realize in my past, very sporadic blog dappling I have never really mentioned who I am.My name is Trish. I have a business called Sit Stay Go that is all about ‘Making lives a little more colourful’. Currently I design and produce home wares and art prints, however, to let you in on a little secret… soon I’ll be able to add clothing to the list too!!!Above all that I am a mum to a two year old, which just adds a whole other set of skills to my repertoire; although we have hit terrible twos and I feel I am losing any parenting skills I had by the minute!

Because Sit Stay Go is quite a niche business, it is still quite small in size, which means I have had to learn and acquire a whole lot of skills in a short amount of time.

I am a designer, the designs derive from my initial watercolour painting, and so I am a painter.

The goods are handmade in Melbourne; I am the maker.

I do all the background admin, accounts, books, and finances.

I take care of the promotion; I built my web page, manage the social media, attend markets, sell to stores.

Just writing this I feel a little overwhelmed, but it is the life I have made for myself and I love it!

I know I am, by no means, the first to do travel this journey and will definitely not be the last. Lots of amazing people have helped me along the way, both with technical problems but also with emotional problems, in particular those associated with juggling business with raising a child.

Why am I over-sharing on such a public platform as blogging? It’s not to try and cram more into my already hectic life but as a way to share and offer a little insight to my journey.

I want to share the good, the bad and the extra ugly. How it has unfolded so far and what the future brings. I hope by sharing I can pass the same generosity I’ve been shown along to others and help in a little way with their journey

Just to be clear, my future posts wont all be personal ramblings of my trials and tribulations and I have a spreadsheet to prove it!

What exactly is on the spreadsheet? Well stay tuned and I’ll let you in on that secret later this week!

(Yes I am fully aware that the talk of spreadsheets is boring and in any other situation would totally deter me so that’s why you have to trust me)
