Earlier this month I was lucky enough to be part of The Finders Keepers markets in Brisbane as a debut stall holder. It was a great weekend and such a positive experience, although, I have to admit I did have, what felt like an annual general meeting of butterflies happening in my belly the night before.

All that disappeared quite quickly on arrival as I was surrounded by the most lovely stall holders! Everyone was so friendly. Imagine; super talented, creative and friendly, what a mix!

The were so many wonderful goods and I want to share a few of my favourites

(in no particular order)

maker_mercThe lovely sisters, Imelda, Cecelia and Sonia Ryan from Maker and Merchant, a Brisbane based company were a few stalls along from me. They design and make the most lovely homewares, using beautiful fibres and their designs are delightfully bright and bold!

small_green_leafClare Poppi, from Small Green Leaf, another Brisbane girl was right next door. She makes beautiful silver jewellery and to make it even better she uses responsibly sourced materials. Her pieces are stunning, quite delicate yet make a big impact. She also has a great project happening with her ‘growing jewellery’ which is worth checking out.

bespokeThe ladies behind the great read, Bespoke Magazine. They do such a wonderful job to produce a magazine that is so rich in creative content. Just what I needed for the flight home.

It was great to see some familiar labels and faces I recognised from Melbourne that had also made the trek to Brisbane.

(Sorry Melbourne ladies, I missed out on getting back to see you to take some photos myself)

2It was really lovely to meet Sam from The Wolf and I. I have always admired their beautiful clothes! They are timeless, classic cuts from beautiful fibres and linens. Seriously, a recommended wardrobe addition.

3bHannah from Hannakin is a favourite I see often at the local market. She creates such gorgeous watercolour illustrations of whimsical creatures. In fact I have some on the wall of my boys room.

4It was also a treat to meet Yumi from and O design. I have always adored her delicate small sculptures and jewellery. She has some amazing hanging air plants, not to mention her beautiful, intricate jewellery that features such charming patterns and colour.

thumbaI also have to mention one of my favourite makers of cards, Able and Game. Their designs are so fun with witty and clever messages. A special thanks to Anna who kindly divulged her tips and tricks of transporting a market stall interstate, a particularly logistically difficult task that she has absolutely mastered!

I assure you between all my socialising I did actually tend to my stall, however, I couldn’t have done it with out the help of Chris, how else would I have had the time to meet and chat to the wonderful people, enjoy the great food and even grab some much needed sunshine! Thanks Chris x

Most importantly I must mention all the people who came along to the weekend. What an amazing turnout! It is so great to see the support and awareness for handmade products, environmentally sustainable means of creation and appreciation of creativity and care of craftsmanship required to produce such items.

Thanks x
